A report provided by Research & Studies department in Arabian Oud referred to the growth of Oud & oriental perfumes sales during the winter to reach the average of 13% -15%. The same source added that Oud & oriental perfumes sales raised starting from the last month November 2011, which witnessed the companies and specialized exhibitions in Oud an increasing rates in sales as a result for the upcoming winter season.
Sales of Oud and oriental perfumes witness’s remarkable recovery during the winter, whereas it is used as gifts among families and friends because of its long lasting fragrance, especially in times like these. The report pointed out that the use of Oud and oriental perfumes in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region is an integral part of the citizen's personality who is committed to his heritage and authentic customs, also Oud considered as an icon in the local & Gulf communities’ culture, the study suggested to a correlation between the use of oriental perfumes and religious rites, where it used frequently in religious ceremonies, festivals, weddings and cozy events.
The report added that Oud reflects the honor aspects with guest appearances and celebration during the visit. There are many people whom hold a special standing for Oud, where its connected to their culture, religious rites, customs or traditions, Japanese use it to revive their faith, and Indians used it in the past to sterilize operating rooms, also they use Oud’s wood to burn the dead bodies of VIP as a kind of honor.
The report mentioned the importance of Oud in addition to its beautiful fragrance and association with people heritage and culture, because Oud goes back to thousands of years ago, so it is impossible to be grown again or to find its seeds at all, it’s a miracle folded pages.
And added, that Oud tree grows in the humid tropics and rainforest, and it’s native goes to some of the world's dense forests, especially in the peninsula of India and Southeast Asia, where thousands of years ago trees grew very large and called Oud trees, the specifications of these trees combine with other trees in the shape, but it differ in the internal structure somewhat, as the Oud trees produce a material inside it’s bark to attract type of parasites that are feed on the secretions produced by the Oud trees within its internal bark, and then these parasites drop its waste composing Oud wood.
